Today 12/16/24 is Day 1 of TAWEDE the time of deep and intense Ifa/Isese inner journeying. This sacred time last for sixteen days representing the sixteen Odu-Ifa. The way of this is set by participants focusing on how they will devise their plan for self-development and self-reliance via Ifa/Isese studies and experiences. However, the basics must be understood. 1. Obatala is to be held in high esteem as in Eji Ogbe, the first odu. White cloth, white clay pottery, white candles, throat chakra meditation, dietary planning, and degrees of abstinence are all important to consider. 2. This is not syncretism. Staying true to the imagery and insightful nature of our African culture is paramount. 3. Journaling is necessary as this is the time of conceiving and nurturing one's thoughts, feelings, cognitive breakthroughs and in doing so increase degrees of strength in character, oneness with nature, and non-regressive tendencies.
I'll post something each day to assist in the process moving forward. I also suggest that studies based on my books.

Here, in his work, we find what I call "the next step" in post-Maafa appreciation and the instilling within the African Spiritual Systems a gearing toward becoming who we once were and what we cannot help but to become as writers of our self-development, self-realization, and ultimate self-actualization and manifestation. It might be said that none of this can happen unless two primary steps are embarked upon: 1. Introspection in order to heal and grow. 2. Having means or strategies to do so. Here is where the genius of this treatise blossoms, because it offers both. It's important to realize the value of taking the responsibility of developing ourselves as not an affront to our ancestors nor our orishas nor Ifa nor Olodumare. On the contrary, my years of being on this iwakeri/spiritual journey and iwori/transcendence via years of self-analyzation has led to the conclusion that such a process is precisely what they want us to do. They want us to relive our glory outside the confines of Eurocentrism as we did prior to their destructive invasion. They want us to see the value in working together and building the largest human-made structure prior to industrialization. They want us to past on the legacy of strength and forbearance to at least seven generations. And dear people, how are we to do these things we don't awaken spirits embedded deep within our ori/mindset and then walk boldly into the dawning and into the resurrection of ourselves and our people. But I digress, let's refocus on this exceptional e-book. “The Ase Spirituality Awakening Journal” contains thoughtful self-help exercises and directives brilliantly constructed using Ifa/Isese as means to reflective thought and visualization. Orisagbemi, the author, as included time-honored methods put into place whereby you —- whether initiated or not — can single-mindedly traverse your own emotional, spiritual, and mental realms and, as an outcome, become part of your healing process, your developmental process, your actualization process. In today's times with technology at hand, this work demonstrates that to adapt is to avoid extinction, and it has masterfully presented the means to continue on. In today's times there are so many voices and distractions and hurriedness that causes us to not take the time to "go in" and really get a grip on this thing called life and the importance of perspectives And yes, it might not be appealing and more of a chore to actually be contemplative, meditative, or self-reflective but when we really think about it what better way to spend our lives than to work on refining and redefining the very nature of our being. So, let’s take "the next step" together. Oloye “Baba” Ifa Karade Author, Lecturer, Babalawo, Professor
